FOR THE CAUSE

At Daffodil Place, we offer a true home away from home for individuals undergoing cancer treatment. Since our doors opened in July 2009, we have been a beacon of support of 9708 guests from 487 communities, providing a total of 108,820 nights of care and comfort. Each night, we create a home away from home for patients and their caregivers, ensuring they have the support they need during one of life’s most challenging periods.

Cancer treatment often demands long journeys away from home which can be both physically and emotionally draining. Daffodil place is designed to ease this burden, offering a warm and supportive environment where someone undergoing cancer, and their families can focus on what truly matters – recovery.

We charge someone undergoing cancer and their caregiver $50.00 a night to stay at Daffodil Place, the cost to Canadian Cancer Society is over $120.00 a night. This expense covers a range of essential services that significantly impact our guests’ well-being:

  • Home-Cooked Meals: We provide three delicious, nutritious meals each day, offering comfort and sustenance that go beyond just physical needs.
  • Transportation Services: We offer transportation to and from medical appointments.
  • Nightly Entertainment: Our incredible volunteers help to provide engaging activities and entertainment to offer moments of joy and relaxation, helping to counteract the stress of treatment.
  • Supportive Care Services: We provide access to supportive care services, including our Resource Room providing wigs, breast protheses, and other items free of charge.

A $100 donation directly covers the cost of a night’s stay for someone undergoing cancer and their caregiver. Your generosity ensures that every guest can access all the benefits Daffodil Place offers without worrying about the financial burden. Each donation helps to provide a space of comfort and support where someone undergoing cancer can focus on healing rather than the logistics of their stay.

Your support is crucial in helping us to continue to offer this essential service. Participate in our 24-hour radiothon on VOCM, from 7am on November 14th to 7am on November 15th, and make a difference in the lives of those who need it the most.
